Flushing Meadows Corona Park

Famous as the site of World’s Fairs in 1939 and 1964, Queens’ flagship park serves as a “backyard” for residents of the diverse communities surrounding it. See how facilities and amenities have been added or adapted for multicultural Queens, learn of the park’s historical significance outside of the fairs, and discover its natural and recreational features, including art and science museums, professional sports venues, protected wetlands, a marina and more. This tour is two hours long. For grades 6 and up!

  Adrienne Onofri is a licensed NYC sightseeing guide and the author of the book Walking Queens: 30 Tours for Discovering the Diverse Communities, Historic Places, and Natural Treasures of New York City’s Largest Borough, as well as Walking Brooklyn: 30 Tours Exploring Historical Legacies, Neighborhood Culture, Side Streets, and Waterways. A native New Yorker and longtime Queens resident, Adrienne is also a freelance editor and travel and arts journalist. She received a B.S. in journalism from Northwestern University, and a master’s in education at Pace University.
