Musical Theatre Dance Residency- Step into the spotlight!

Have you always dreamed of dancing to your favorite show tunes? Now's your chance! This joyful and welcoming dance residency is designed especially for older adults who love the magic of musical theater. Over the course of this residency, you'll learn fun and easy to follow choreography set to classic Broadway hits and tunes of the Golden Era (1940s–1970s)—such as Singin’ in the Rain, Mary Poppins, Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend and South Pacific to name a few. Whether you're brand new to dance or have a bit of stage experience, this program is all about movement, music, and fun.

  Caryn is a dance administrator, educator and performer from Long Island, NY. She began her dance training at a young age. She studied ballet in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and tap dance for ten years and later went on to work with various choreographers and perform in venues in the New York City area such as Lincoln Center, Central Park, Radio City Music Hall and the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts. As a teaching artist, Caryn has taught dance classes for older adults at various senior centers throughout Long Island and Queens. In addition, as a fitness instructor, she is certified in Zumba Gold and Silver Sneakers for older adults and teaches Zumbinia music and movement class for young kids and their caregivers. Caryn holds her MA in Dance Education from New York University and her BFA in Arts Administration from LIU Post.
